It’s Hard Watching Your Child Struggle

Parenting a child who is struggling can feel overwhelming. Maybe mornings before school are a daily battle, or homework ends in tears more often than it gets finished. You might notice your child worrying about everything, lashing out when you try to help, or falling behind socially and academically.

It’s hard to know when these challenges are “just a phase” and when your child might need more support. You want answers. You want a plan. Most of all, you want your child to feel happy and capable again.

  • A workspace with knitting supplies, a planner open to August, leaves and sketches of mushrooms, yarn, a keyboard, a glass of water with a plant, and knitting needles on a wooden table.

    Focus & ADHD Challenges

When your child is easily distracted, struggles to sit still, or has trouble finishing tasks, it impacts the whole family. We explore whether ADHD is really the issue and build strategies for focus, routines, and success both at home and in the classroom.

    Anxiety & Emotional Struggles

Kids often don’t have the words to explain their worries, so anxiety shows up as clinginess, irritability, stomachaches, or meltdowns. We help your child learn calming skills, practice confidence, and find healthier ways to cope.

    Behavioral & Defiance Issues

Frequent arguments, big emotions, or defiance can leave you feeling exhausted and unsure how to respond. Together, we work on understanding the “why” behind the behavior and building tools for structure, routines, and more peaceful family life.

More About Our Approach

Medication can be part of the picture, but it’s never the first or only step. In fact, I often describe myself as a therapist who happens to prescribe medication. That means we’ll start with therapy-based approaches, life tools, and holistic supports like sleep, nutrition, and movement. If medication makes sense, we’ll walk through the process together, making sure you and your child feel supported every step of the way.

The goal is always the same: to help your child feel more connected, capable, and confident.

If your child is struggling with mood, focus, or behavior, you don’t have to keep guessing what will help. Let’s create a plan that supports both your child and your family.
